Heart Of Cards

Monday, September 17, 2012

I made this card for the daily challenge on fb in the Craftymess group (blue, silver & white) but due to technical difficulties with my camera I never made it in time to enter the challenge. I had fun making it anyway & it surprises me how something can come into your head at the spur of the moment.

I created a base card using pearlescent card then cut blue glitter card label 1 (the biggest), silver mirri card & blue glitter card again. I layered all of these onto the base card, added a sentiment & a bell in each corner. I had a few problems with the silver mirri card staying on the blue glitter card but after trying many different glues & foam pads, it eventually decided to stick...hopefully it stays stuck lol.

Diamond Fold Card

After looking on some sites last night, I decided to try my first ever diamond fold card. I must admit the fold is very easy once you get the hang of it.
I then cut some Butterfly Garden paper by Wild Rose Studio (free from Quick Cards Magazine) & put this onto some gold mirri card. This was then mounted onto the card base. I added a blueish/purple butterfly on each end of the card & Ultra fine glittered the sentiment.

This is a card my daughter Storm made her gran for her 73rd birthday next week. As gran loves her tea, she thought a tea pot card would be ideal.
She took some white card stock & cut out a template of a teapot, covered the card with some cupcake paper designed by Cardmaking & Papercraft & glittered the wording in ultra fine glitter.
I am certain gran will love it & ask why is it not a real teapot :-)
