90th Birthday Card

The lady I am currently employed with who is quadriplegic asked me to make her a special card for her sisters 90th Birthday for end of May.

I got down to finally doing it on the weekend. With the favourite "All occasions" embossing folder from Papercraft essentials issue 122.

Here I used a plain white card base that I bought from Poundland. 10 cards & envelopes for £1, what a bargain & it seems to be a good quality card & envelope to use.

I embossed the card with the folder which was the perfect size so didn't have to trim the card down at all.
Then I punched out 2 butterflies from light purple paper, glittered the edges & adhered them to the card base with sticky foam. I added a gem to each butterfly for added sparkle as thought they looked rather plain in the middle.
I created a label with silver card stock using my big shot, made a white greeting label to go onto the silver label, glittered the number 90 in silver glitter then added a gem on each corner.
To finish the card base I added a purple with silver edging ribbon to the left hand side of the card base & finished this off with a matching bow.

As I don't personally know the lady I am making the card for, I asked my client to choose a verse for the inside of the card. It was a very short verse but has a lot of meaning to it:
Life is like a mirror: Smile at it and it will smile back at you.

I printed this verse landscape on white printer paper & adhered it to the inside of the card using glue tape.

My client was very happy & pleased with it as she said you don't get cards like this anywhere.
I simply LOVE this embossing folder as it is so versatile
