Baby Girl card

A friend wanted a baby card with a bit of green, pink & blue but wasn't sure of the sex until today. What a mad rush it was trying to get a card for a baby as I don't do baby cards often & she wanted it by the following morning. It was late in the afternoon, the daylight was going & I was battling to cut straight etc.

Here I did a 13cm lime green card base. I took pink stripey paper & mounted it onto a lime green card measuring 4.5 x 13cm and adhered it on the left hand side of the card base, leaving a 2mm border on the left hand side.

I mounted the pram topper onto light blue then lime green & light blue card. This was mounted onto the card front with a 2cm border on the left.

I glittered baby girl on the right of the card front, added punched out baby bottles & prams and added these along with the socks to the pink stripey paper.

For the inside of the card I cut a piece of green checked 12cm x 12cm paper & mounted this to the inside of the card. I cut a lime green card measuring 5.5cm x 13cm & border punched along both sides. I then mounted the letters b a b y with foam pads & drew wooden pegs to "hang" the letters with.

I showed my friend the card & she was extremely pleased with it, said it was unusual & guaranteed the recipient won't get any 2 cards alike.

All occasions embossing folder

My sister in law has devoted a lot of her time to help care for my dad at home before he goes into a frail care home. As I am thousands of miles away, I am unable to thank her personally so made her this card to show her appreciation & devotion.

I have embossed a 15cm x 15cm pearlescent card with the all occasions embossing folder & mounted this onto a 16cm x 16cm white card base.
I added small gems, glittered the "stitching", added 2 butterflies using the dimensions butterfly punch & die cut a label that says thank you.

The inside of the card I typed out a little poem on white paper that measures 8cm x 8cm & mounted this onto pearlescent 8.5cm x 8.5cm card that says:

"I wish I said it every time
you do the things you do.
You always lend a helping hand,
and I'm filled with gratitude.
You are strong & generous
for each & every one of us.
I am eternally grateful,
I cannot say thanks enough.".

I embossed a matching envelope & hope it gets to her safely in sunny South Africa!

Just To Say

With this card I did the same effect but with a different embossing folder. I glittered the butterfly wings & added a gem to each flower as well as made a matching envelope

With Love.....

A colleague at work asked if I still make cards to wish I replied of cos yes. She mentioned she needs to buy a condolence/thoughtful card but didn't have the time as she was busy with her studies. I came up with the idea of these cards simply as a thoughtful card, leaving the inside blank for my colleague to write her own message in it.

I embossed a 15 cm x 15 cm white card using the All Occasion Embossing folder from Papercraft Essentials issue 122, heat embossed it with a sparkle embossing powder, put a ribbon around the inside spine of the card, added punched out butterflies, glittered the wings & added a gem to each butterfly.

I cut out a silver frame, added a white frame topper to that, stamped a With Love sentiment & glittered it.
I made the matching envelope using the same All Occasions Embossing folder with a white frame to write the receivers address on it if she was to post it to the recipient.
